Hervey Bay Pier http://flic.kr/p/pqQic6 More of the same sorry guys. Not feeling it a this point in time. Though this picture worked for me. You can see the work being undertaken on the pier, replacing the pylons.
Urangan Pier Panorama http://flic.kr/p/p6W4Z8 I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend up in Hervey Bay recently. Unfortunately, I was struck down with a fever and couldn’t even stand in the shade of the pier without shivering. Needless to say, I didn’t make it there at daybreak or days end.
This was a lunch time panorama, with a high-tide. 5 or 6 shot portrait shots with a 10 stop ND filter. Each 30 seconds a piece.
Looks as though they are replacing all the piers under the pier.
A Cloudy Moon http://flic.kr/p/pbsSWt Remember when full moons were just full moons and not “super” moons?
13 August wasnt one of them.
Carlo Point Jetty http://flic.kr/p/oRzy53 Heading into another camping trip, another photo from a previous camping trip.
2 minute exposure at sunrise on a very calm morning. I do wish it were high-tide. Will have a crack at a few more on the next trip.
Water Balloon II http://flic.kr/p/p5o7iK A water balloon as it burst. 2 flashes, one with a purple gel and the other with orange gel.
Each was fired at about 1/16th power.
Timing again was an issue, but think it was captured well.
Strawberry Drop http://flic.kr/p/oLbjvh Strawberry + martini glass + inside out metallica t-shirt + red tile.
My camera club had “water” as a theme. I played with some high-speed photography, well atleast attempt to.
This was shot with 2 strobes at 1/16th power, snooted immediately right/left. Timing was the biggest problem, but I got this shot which I was most happy with.
Not So Deep Creek http://flic.kr/p/oRPKCP Some glorious colours in this shot. Made me want to get a yellow/blue polarizer.
Looking forward to a trip away in the near future which will hopefully reinvigorate my desire to go and take photos. With a few weekends of miserable weather and other commitments, I will have to blow the dust off the camera.
The Retort House http://flic.kr/p/oskz4H A black and white taken on the photo.
Note the light in the windows, this involved a brisk jog up the hill with the self-timer on and then waving the worlds dullest torch around the inside of the building.
A 30 second exposure with a decent amount of wind around.
I should try and head here on a clear night and see what kind of stars I can get.
My mother took some shots this night as well. This is one of them:- http://ift.tt/1qbLKy7
The Track Home http://flic.kr/p/oCUixw A 5 image stitch of a wonderful scene. The colour was sucked out of the sky only seconds before I took these photos. It was a spectacular sunrise.
I do quite like the clouds in this shot. I had tried to shoot this location before with limited success.
Deep Creek Sunset http://flic.kr/p/oBzm7X Some days I have really disliked this photo. Other days I really like it. Today is one of those days.
Thought I should upload it before it gets put into the archive never to be seen again.
I was startled when taking this shot when someone fossicking for gold popped there head out just down the creek. Well, I assume they were fossicking for gold, they had a shovel.
A Mary Valley Morning http://flic.kr/p/oeZ3sf After a case of insomnia on Friday night / Saturday morning I decided to head out 2 hours before sunrise to joust with the morning light.
Standing beside the Mary Valley Highway whilst there was only a the slightest glimmer of light on the horizon is a somewhat daunting task.
I kept having to restart my long exposures as the traffic was, whilst not heavy, constant enough that I couldn’t get a 2 minute exposure without some awkward lighting from the passing cars.
This one itself is a 1 minute exposure. The capture was quite amazing as it was dark enough that I needed a torch just to walk around.
Plantation Skies http://flic.kr/p/osJEuf This is a frame from some failed startrails. I was neither facing south, nor had I factored into the cloud which destroyed the shots.
However, I quite liked the composition. I think it works.
I should be out tonight doing some more.
Gympie Gold http://flic.kr/p/oqx5gu A winter sunset from my hometown. I really like how the road brings you right the way through the creek and up to the bridge.
Quite chuffed with this result.
A minute exposure just before the colour really exploded in the clouds.
Would be great to have a few more sunsets like this on the weekend.
Deep Creek Viaduct, Gympie http://flic.kr/p/oqoZxr Sunset under/over/around the Deep Creek viaduct in my hometown. The rail line that travels over the viaduct is hopefully soon to be back up and running the local heritage railway, running steam train tours in to the Mary Valley.
It is not often I take the initiative to go and look locally for a few shots. I was lucky enough to happen to snag a fantastic sunset to go with it.
